R & R Workshop: DIY | Wire Love Necklace

DIY | Wire Love Necklace

With mother's day and graduation coming soon, I wanted to give something that was different then just a giftcard.  I've seen a lot wire word necklaces lately I figured.. why not make them myself?

Do you read Jones Design Company? Emily is amazing. I've been reading her blog for a couple years. Seriously..go check out her website. I love all her projects, her style(check out her awesome house!) and she is so honest with what her life is really like.  A couple years ago, she posted a tutorial about how to make wire words.  I changed mine a little bit to make a necklace. Here's how I made mine:

You will need:
//Wire- I used 20 gauge.
//round- nose pliers
//ribbon or chain

1. Emily's tutorial is simple and she shows us two ways to do it- Free hand or follow a printed word. I chose free-hand. You can see her full tutorial here.

2. I didn't take many pictures of this process unfortunately. It was simpler then I thought it would be! I used my hands and only needed the pliers for making loops. I did added a few loops at the end of my words to hang ribbon on. You could also add a pretty chain instead of ribbon if you wanted.

3. I made myself a necklace that says "mom". I really love it.
4. There are so many other words you could write too! I had a little fun and made a heart and a R & R. I didn't even attempt to write workshop haha. :)

I also made a necklace that says "love". These necklaces are so fun & when you can add a flower clip or brooch it makes them even more unique.

The thing I love most is you can personalize them to fit any person you give them too. I cant wait to give mine to my mom. Such a special gift for grandma, sisters, aunts daughters, and friends!
