R & R Workshop: ABC Summer Activity Jar

ABC Summer Activity Jar

I love the date Jars I've seen and I wanted to use the same idea for summer activities with my kids! My son is in Pre-K and we have been working with him to recognize his letters. So I combined the two ideas.. A letter on every stick with a corresponding activity!

The thing I love most about this is.. each activity doesn't take much planning. There are so many great things to do in our town for free or really inexpensive. I wanted to stay outside as much as possible so I think I achieved that with the exception of a few activities.. like a trip to the library, an indoor camp-out and jammie day :)

You will need:
//Mason Jar
//Sharpie
//Optional: Any Embellishments to decorate jar- buttons, stickers, ribbon

On one side of the Popsicle stick I wrote a letter. And on the other I had an activity corresponding with that letter. I chose activities that don't require too much to plan ahead and could be done the day we picked them.

Here are our activities to go with the letter:
(You can change them for each season if you would like as well!)

A- Go to the Apple Orchard!                                     O- Outdoor Movie
B- Bubbles & Bikes                                                   P- Painting and popsicles
C- Make Cupcakes & chalk fun!                               Q- Feed the ducks at the park.. Quack!
D- Dollar store                                                           R- Collect rocks and color them
E- dye eggs                                                                S- Science and sounds
F- Fun with friends day!                                           T- Be Thoughtful..do something nice for someone
G- Visit a Garden                                                      U- Un-birthday Party!
H- Hiking                                                                  V- learn about veggies
I- Indoor Campout                                                    W- Water fun!
J- Jammie Day!                                                         X- Xtreme sports!
K- Kites                                                                     Y- Yo-Yo and Frozen Yogurt
L- Library day!                                                          Z- Visit to the Zoo!
M- Make mud pies
N- Nature Walk

 I like that its kind of a surprise what we will be doing each week!

I used ribbon and few scrapbook embellishments to decorate my jar. I'm really excited to start using this in a few weeks!

Do you think you will make one too? :)
